Six Month Update

We are a bit late with the six month update, but the word for six months is FUN.  This is such a great stage -- everything is fun from shopping to playing in the park to eating new foods.  There are of course things that aren't fun, but who said that putting on hats or coats was fun?

Masha loves to be outside.  She stares at trees, watches the leaves blow and picks the grass.  As you can see from the above photos, she loves to pose for the camera as well.  Say "cheese" and you have a smile coming from this little gal.  She is very social when out in public -- she smiles at everyone and loves meeting new people.  This morning we went to breakfast and she was getting a bit fidgety so I walked around with her and she was just fine smiling at the restaurant patrons.  Give her a crowd and she's pleased as punch (who's kid is this?).

She is sitting up on her own, scooting around on her tummy, pushing up on her back legs or front arms (though not at the same time yet), rolling continuously to get from one place to another, and doing the airplane.  Lately she makes this sound that is a cross between a baby bear and a goblin.  I'm not exactly sure where this comes from except that her dad makes a similar sound when he puts her up in the air.

She loves to eat -- has had banana, applesauce, pear, rice cereal, and avocado so far.  She is just getting the hang of being full and doesn't get as upset at the end of a meal.  It seems that banana is the favorite right now.  She likes to chew on everything which makes us think that teeth are just around the corner though we've thought that for the past two months now.

She loves not having shoes or socks on.  Last week it was warm on our walk so I took her shoes and socks off and she rubbed her feet together, put them up in the air while the wind blew through them and curled her toes.  During baths she likes to make the big splashes but doesn't like to bathe for too long.  Though she is still a big fan of Rilo Kiley she occasionally falls asleep without her tunes in the background.  She still loves music and seems to be growing fond of Bob Marley.

She is pretty dainty and petite -- just now fitting into some six month clothes.  She likes to play with tiny things and also likes to use her parents as a jungle gym.  And speaking of which there is nothing more fun to grab right now than our faces.

Yoshi (the cat) is a very fun toy too.  We are getting the hang of gentle petting down, though he is extremely patient with her.  He seems to think that she's a fun toy too.  The other day she layed her head down on his stomach and he didn't mind a bit.  They are a cute pair.

This is a super fun stage.

very cute! i promise that as a mom, you begin to think each stage is cuter and more fun than the last. at least that's how we've been with fin. going through it again isn't much different. we still love to see all the new things rowan is doing! it's amazing what these little creatures are capable of!

Masha is so a star. I love all these pictures and videos with her big toothless smile. That smile is infectious.
